About Ngee Ann Primary Chinese Orchestra
Formed in 1988, Ngee Ann Primary School Chinese
Orchestra now has a strong team of 140 members. The Chinese Orchestra aims to
promote the appreciation of Chinese music and culture, provide an avenue for
pupils’ aesthetic development, foster team spirit, promote racial harmony and
more importantly inculcate in them strong values and the love of learning. The
Orchestra has performed on numerous occasions within the school and in public
both locally and overseas. Over the years, the Orchestra has consistently
brought pride and joy to the school. During the SYF Central Judging, the
Orchestra not only attained Gold awards in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2006 but also achieved
2 Gold awards (with Honours) in 2004 and 2008. In 2000, the Orchestra was
crowned the overall champion; subsequently it also clinched the Best Five
Primary School
我校华乐团成立于1988年，目前共有140名成员。我团的宗旨是给学生一个学习华乐的平台，发展学生对音乐的审美能力，培养团队精神与促进种族和谐。1998、2000、2002与2006年，我团除了在青年节中央裁判获得了金牌，2000年更以《龙腾虎跃》获得全国第一，2002年也被评为表现最好的5所小学华乐团。2004与2008年获得荣誉金牌；2002与2004年在云顶高原举行的国际华乐节中也获得金牌。多年来，我团在校际、社区、海外赢得了不少荣誉，实足引以为荣。
